Członkowie Talking Heads, Chris Frantz i David Byrne, poznali się jako studenci w Rhode Island School of Design, gdzie wspólnie tworzyli muzykę w studenckim zespole o nazwie The Artistics. W semestrze wiosennym 1974 roku grupa zebrała się w mieszkaniu Frantza przy Benefit Street, aby zarejestrować taśmę demonstracyjną. Na kasecie znalazły się utwory, które wkrótce miały stać się klasykami w dyskografii Talking Heads: „Warning Sign” oraz „Psycho Killer”. Niniejsza kolekcja, wydana na płytach 3 płytach, zawiera ten materiał wraz z dodatkowymi jedenastoma utworami demo i nagraniami na żywo, zarejestrowanymi w latach 1975–1976 przez oryginalny skład tria, który obok Frantza i Byrne’a współtworzyła basistka Tina Weymouth.
