Pierwotnie wydany w 1989 roku, Seasons End był piątym studyjnym albumem Marillion i pierwszym z Steve'em Hogarthem jako frontmanem zespołu, po odejściu poprzedniego frontmana Fisha. Album był współprodukowany przez zespół i Nicka Davisa, który pracował również z takimi zespołami jak Genesis, Mike + The Mechanics i innymi. Czwarty w dorobku grupy, odniósł duży sukces komercyjny, pokrywając się złotem w Niemczech i na Wyspach. W ojczyźnie zespołu płyta dotarła do drugiego miejsca na liście. Pochodzą z niej klasyki Marillion, "Incommunicado", "Sugar Mice" i "Warm Wet Circles". Dziś album jest już klasykiem neo-prog rocka. Materiał audio został na nowo zmiksowany, a zajęli się tym Andy Bradfield i Avril Mackintosh.
